Commission Price Guides

Commission prices are calculated based on a combination of factors

  • Number of Characters

  • How much of the character is seen

  • How much color is used

  • How much shading is done

  • If a background is included, and how complicated it is

Additional characters add 50% of the total commission price for a single character.
ex: if a commission is $100 for one character, it would be $150 for two, $200 for three, and so on.

If your commission contains:

  • Long flowing dresses or fabric

  • Armor/Mech

  • Elaborate Outfits, Backgrounds, or Special Textures*

There will be additional charges.

* 'elaborate outfits' and 'special textures' may refer to a variety of things. If present, price will be determined during the reference exchange and discussion.

This example to the right has elaborate or special textures, referring to the character's outfit, hair, and background. In a case like this, the price may be determined by how much time it takes to complete. This will be based on my WORK time, not the commissioner's WAIT time. i.e. the commissioner will not be charged for time that I am not actively working on their commission. If a piece considered 'elaborate' has additional characters, the 50% charge will be based off these prices. So an elaborate full body 2-character piece would cost $187.50, A 3-character piece would cost $250, etc.

Commission Preparation

Before beginning a new commission, I'll need a few things so I understand what the final piece will look like visually, and what mood you would like it to convey. Here's a link to a reddit post explaining different character reference sheet types! The quick version goes like this: The most important parts of a reference (for my own practice) are

a full-body reference, a color reference, and an expression sheet.

To be clear, you do not NEED all or even one of these to commission me. In fact, I can create your references first for an additional fee to make future commissions from me, or any other artist, easier.

Not all character sheets are going to include every possible aspect of a character. Some, like LiterallyLumen's reference sheet, aren't even colored. Any reference you have, even a sketch, is immensely helpful in understanding the character's personality. In addition to references, it's important that we discuss the emotion or mood your commission will convey. When requesting a commission there will be time to discuss this and more before work begins.

Work timelines will vary, especially if I am working on a backlog, meaning I have a waitlist of commissioners who are already 'in line'. Our reference share and discussion may happen several weeks before I begin work on your piece. I will notify commissioners via DM or Email when work begins. For sketches a commissioner can expect their piece to be finished within 5-7 days. Half-color and full color pieces can take 2-6 weeks.Once work has begun commissioners can expect a preliminary sketch within the first two weeks so we can discuss concepts and changes, if any, to make sure the piece is heading in the right direction. This will be the commissioner's only opportunity to offer criticism and request edits before the piece is completed, so please do make your thoughts known during this time!

Before work begins I may request a down payment of up to $50 to ensure my work will be fully compensated in the event a commissioner decides they no longer want their piece. Commissions who's full price does not exceed $50 will have a down payment no larger than half of their commission's full price. This down payment is not refundable. Once the commission has been completed this down payment will apply toward the piece's price.I have the right to deny any commission without cause or notice.
